6 Hollywood Actors Who Completely Transformed Their Bodies for a Role

6 Hollywood Actors Who Completely Transformed Their Bodies for a Role

Have you ever watched a Hollywood movie and been like that guy, what is up with that actor? What had made him so different? And other stars don’t simply act, they fashion their physiques to fit the part. They lose, gain, build or test themselves to extremes. It takes real promises, and it doesn’t always happen to be pain free and healthy. The results of the screenings are shocking, however.

Ten Hollywood Stars Who Underwent Incredible Body Transformations I have written very simple and straight forward so you can enjoy the stories even if English is not your first language. These stories will inspire you and also make you appreciate the effort that went into making your beloved movies. Let’s jump straight into it

1.Christian Bale in The Machinist.

Christian Bale in The Machinist

Christian Bale is a leading Batman, an amazing superhero. But with 2004’s thriller The Machinist he did the opposite. He had dropped a shocking 63 pounds and weighed about just 120 pounds. How? He ate one apple, one can of tuna, drank black coffee and chain-smoked every day. It was extreme! He was so gaunt and tired-looking on camera that people didn’t recognize him. But less than six months later, his muscles had gained more than 100 pounds and transformed him into Batman. I remember watching The Machinist and thinking, is it the same actor? His level of commitment is at another tier.

2.Matthew McConaughey’s powerful role in Dallas Buyers Club

Matthew McConaughey used to be known as the charming romantic hero. However, in 2013 Dallas Buyers Club, he lost almost 47 pounds in order to portray a man challenged with AIDS. He stuck to his diet and shed off the pounds within a short period. His body appeared weak and thin and this made him win an Oscar. It was so realistic that it added to the total movie. Matthew was educating everybody that you have to get a pinch of pain here and there to make the story appear genuine.

3. Charlize Theron in Monster

Charlize Theron in Monster

Charlize Theron is a Hollywood actress who is one of the most beautiful. In 2003, she acted as a real life serial killer in the Monster movie in which she had gained approximately 30 pounds. She even changed her makeup and false teeth just to look completely different. No more appearance!--she was not recognised! This transformation also made her an Oscar winner. Later, Charlize claimed that she found it hard to gain weight, however, she wanted to portray the character as she is. It shows that beauty is not merely seeing the person on the screen.

4. Jared Leto Chapter 27

Jared Leto is a musician and an actor. He also played a murderer of John Lennon in Chapter 27, a 2007 movie, who had lost 67 pounds in a few months. He ate pizza, ice cream and anything that gets one becoming bigger. His features and physique had been so distorted that he had even gout, as a result of the surplus weight! In another character Dallas Buyers Club, Jared also lost some weight and this goes to confirm that he can either gain or lose weight. His commitment is quite promising.

5. Raging Bull by Robert De Niro

Raging Bull by Robert De Niro

Robert De Niro is a legend in Hollywood. In the 1980 boxing movie Raging Bull, he first trained to look like a healthy boxer. Then as the story continued on later he was provided with 60 pounds to make the character look old and heavy. He consumed plenty of pasta and Italian cuisine to gain weight. The movie received numerous nominations and people continue discussing how authentic his transformation was. Robert proved that an actor can change their bodies whenever they are of any age.

6. The Castaway Performance of Tom Hanks

The Castaway Performance of Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks is an actor that most people adore. You feel that he is normal and down to earth whenever he is on screen. In the 2000 film Cast Away, Tom portrayed a character of a man who is deserted on an island alone. In order to make this role more convincing, Tom lost nearly 50 pounds to represent his role and made himself look as real as he could. He was also very strict with his diet while filming and even allowed himself to become very scruffy with the use of a real beard. Due to the radical transformation of his body, you had the opportunity to believe that this character had lost everything and was having a hard time with being alone. Tom informed us that it was not easy to lose all that weight; but it enabled him to connect with the character on a more personal level and you could really feel the loneliness and desolate lifestyle that the character was experiencing as he was watching the movie.
